A cyst in the lateral rectus muscle leaves a possibility of Neurocysticercosis very high on the cards. The commonest site of an orbital NCC is the lateral rectus muscle. The diagnosis can be further strengthened by NCC serology and maybe a CT scan of the head to look for any associated lesion. Disc hyperemia and decrease of vision is difficult to explain unless the NCC has ruptured causing a secondary inflammatory reaction The other sites of orbital NCC are subretinal and vitreous.
