On reviewing the brief history, it seems the child was suffering from a viral upper respiratory tract infection, following which he developed neurological signs. I would like to investigate as follows to reach a definitive diagnosis : Haemogram, Serum Protein S and C protein levels due to their involvement in the pathological process and MRI Angiography of cerebral arteries. My Therapeutic approach would include active physiotherapy with a trial of short course of oral steroids although role is not proved, but a trial merits consideration and also supportive care of skin and limbs of affected side alongwith play therapy.
